How many times in your life have you used the word success?
How many times have you referred to this word as something you want, envy, or that is part of you?
But how do you define the word success? What is personal success?
We all want it yet only a few will achieve it. It’s like a mystery, some people have solved and discovered it and many others are looking for a way to find a key for success.
There are many classifications for success, social, family, relationship, financial and etc. This word has a deep meaning so we have to be specific about it.
It is very difficult or almost impossible to reach a goal if we are not clear about it.
The most important thing you have to do to become successful is to know for sure what success is defined for you. Is it a goal, inner peace, happiness, or maybe money?
After a lot of research and googling on the web, I found an interesting definition of success that seems to me to be the most accurate one:
“Success is peace of mind, it is the self-satisfaction of knowing that you do your best to become the best you are capable of being” – Wooden
According to the things I said above we cannot realize that success is the first and main purpose in our life. It’s as if we’re chasing a rainbow, and no matter how far we fly towards it, we’ll never catch up with it.
Success is a mindset, a mentality, a way of thinking, behaving, and becoming, a way of life that manifests itself in mental tranquillity.
The genuinely successful person is successful in more than just moments or conditions.
A person who has a successful mentality can feel pain, loss, rejection, and anger, yet he remains firm, committed, and persevering in pursuit of his goals, regardless of the external circumstances.
For this type of individual, failure is the greatest opportunity to improve, develop and grow because they understand that each failure is like a stair that takes them closer to the target they want for themselves.
There is a saying in martial arts, they say the best way to learn to lift and raise your guard at combat is to get kicked!
Many people made fun of Edison when he kept on turning on a light bulb over and over again.
They said to him: “Edison you have hundreds of failures, stop it and just quit! ” but Edison said to them: “I didn’t have any failure, I have found hundreds of ways that say me how not to light a light bulb. “
The success mentality prevents you from giving up, it teaches you that failure is not failure, its only one step closer to your goal.
A person with a successful attitude has a mentality which is involved with pleasure and growth. They even enjoy the pain they feel in the path. That’s what makes them unique!
Also, there is something interesting about these people, have you ever noticed that these people aren’t concerned with their own success? They don’t even mention or talk about it.
Several times ago an old man said success and happiness are comparable to a shoe! yes, you heard that right!
You will know and notice the shoe exists only when something is wrong, such as when a stone has been inserted or when it is too loose to wear or when it squeezes your foot, but most people will not notice it exists when the shoe is totally fine and comfortable.
The question is that what should we do now to make the shoe fit well? How can we have both success and happiness together and at the same time?

Now here are 20 tips to achieve personal success:
How To Master Personal Success
1. Self Concept
What do I mean by self-concept?
Simply, it refers to how much you believe in yourself and what you believe in yourself.
While it might sound unbelievable to you, the vast majority of us have low self-esteem.
We have a tendency to believe that we are incapable of completing tasks. And this has a big impact on our ability to achieve the goals we set for ourselves.
Someone who believes that he will not achieve whatever he wants from the beginning then it would not be possible for him to get what he wants.
And the only thing he’ll accomplish by “stumbling” is to strengthen his belief that “see? I already knew that I will lose!” As a result, he will turn away from the first difficulty.
An individual with a positive self-concept, on the other hand, believes in himself and believes that he can achieve his goals.
Even if he runs into roadblocks and different problems, he will keep on moving forward because he realizes that nothing in life comes easily. So, there will always be “stones” in the way but he is confident that he will succeed.
Even if he encounters obstacles, he will continue forward because he understands that nothing is easily achieved in life, and there are usually “stones” in the way, and he knows that he will achieve it.
Remember what Henry Ford used to say:
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right.”
For me, self-concept is a fundamental step to personal success.
2. Set Goals For Yourself
What? You are not in the mood to do it? It is not necessary to set goals for yourself?
You are making a big mistake! Let me explain more with statistics:
In fact, according to statistics, only 5% of the population set goals for themselves. In other words, 95% of people do not know what they want, where they are going.
isn’t it shocking? Imagine that 95 out of 100 people you see on the street do not know where they are going and what they want, therefore, they lurch from one side to the other as their heart dictates each moment.
Without a specific path, simply letting yourself go. And so every day.
A little weird, right? Well, that’s how we are in our life. In the end, we do things without knowing why we do them. Isn’t that really surprising to you?
As Francisco Alcaide, the Spanish author and motivational speaker says:
“The main reason why people don’t get what they want is that they don’t know what they want. “
Do you really want to spend the rest of your life on autopilot? And when you reach 60, 70, 80 years … and look back … you will not regret it?!
3. Surround yourself with people like you
Everything good is achieved after a long process. Therefore, it is essential to surround ourselves with people to achieve it. In this sense, two aspects must be taken into account:
• Suitable environments: deep down, it is still the typical “tell me who you hang out with, and I’ll tell you who you are” We all understand this!
Well, although on certain occasions we do not like it, it is totally true.
As Jim Rohn said:
“You‘re the average of the five people spend the most time with.”
Therefore, if you want to be successful, this aspect is essential.
Obviously, if you surround yourself with “winners,” you will have a much better chance of moving forward and imbued with that spirit.
On the contrary, we will not be able to go far if the people we interact with are part of a “toxic” environment.
• You can’t go far by yourself: As the African proverb says:
“if you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together.”
Imagine that you want to travel 450 kilometres on foot. It is not a short distance to say. Surely you would only get to the first 50 kilometres faster, but what about the end?
The emotional drive, the collaboration of others … is essential for big goals.
It is clear that you want to achieve success in what you want!
But … why do we give up so easily? Don’t we have the patience that we are going to talking about? Isn’t it worth making an effort?
We generally lack something fundamental, commitment. Commitment led us to do what is necessary continually and not “by hitting” motivation.
A distinction must be made between commitment and motivation.
Motivation leads to action, but every moment you don’t have that motivation … what will happen?
You have to be clear about what you want and want it from the heart. Have a burning desire is necessary here.
A true determination for what we want and focus on it is necessary because if what you want to achieve is based on motivation … At the first challenge (you can be sure that there will be), you will abandon!
5. Stay away from people who limit success
We must know how to surround ourselves with people who positively influence us and stay away from people who may negatively affect us.
Like negative people who criticize everything, who stop complaining about everything, who are pessimistic about everything, etc.
Sometimes, it can be challenging to walk away from these people, as they could include family or friends; In these cases, we could decide not to distance ourselves from them but always be careful with the influence they can exert on us.
6. Do what you like
To be successful, we must do things with passion, and the best way to achieve this is by dedicating ourselves to doing what we are passionate about.
Therefore, if we want to achieve success, first of all, we must identify what we are passionate about, what we really like to do, what we would do if we had all the money in the world, or what we would do even without anyone paying us for it.
And then, once our passion is identified, dedicating ourselves to doing that, starting a business about it, and knowing that success and money will come later.
7. Think big
Another key to success is thinking big: having high aspirations, setting high goals, and aiming for high purposes.
Even if at first it seems unrealistic to think big, still do it; Thinking big will force us to come up with ways to get to the top, and then it will motivate us to meet our goals.
For example, if we want to start a business, think of a business that has a great chance that over time it can become a great company; We do want to invest, aspire to invest in large projects.
Many people who have a good idea take all the time in the world to analyze, investigate, prepare or learn, either because they are afraid of failure and want to anticipate everything, or because they do not want others to think that they do not know much.
But in the end, when they finally decide to put their idea into practice or take advantage of the opportunity that has been presented to them, it is already too late or, worse, others have already taken it.
So we do want to achieve success, faced with a good idea or opportunity.
We must make the decision and act without wasting so much time analyzing things and without preparing too much, even when we do not know much or even when we are afraid.
Even if your idea is perfect to start, or we don’t know very well what we are going to do, if we have the conviction, we need to act as soon as possible, DO IT, and then decide and correct it goes.
9. Make an Action Plan
In order to achieve what we have proposed, we have to create an action plan.
Without it, it is easy for us to lose the thread of what we want, and above all, to blur our goal.
A project without planning will lead us to failure.
When you write a plan for your goal, you will prepare your mind to achieve it.
Don’t forget that it will be necessary to make this action plan really actionable!
Don’t write something too big to do or another thing that won’t take you closer to your goal.
10. Get constant training
Another requirement for personal success is constant training: reading books, taking courses, listening to tapes, attending seminars, looking for companies or people to train and train us, etc.
We must constantly train ourselves in order to identify and take advantage of the opportunities that arise in the most efficient way possible.
But without going to the extreme of spending a lot of time in training and learning and little time in making decisions and acting.
12. Patience and perseverance
Another key to personal success is having patience and perseverance; know that the road to success is, in general, a long road, full of obstacles, unforeseen events, and difficulties.
No matter how talented, knowledgeable, or prepared a person is, it is unlikely to be successful if they do not have patience and perseverance.
Therefore, to achieve success, we need patience and perseverance to take the first step on a long road, to walk slowly on that road, and to overcome every unexpected obstacle and difficulty that may appear.
Patience and perseverance to not abandon the path and move on whatever happens if we are convinced that it is the right path that will allow us to achieve success, or without first having exhausted all possibilities.
A great way to build self-discipline is to develop systems and routines, especially in areas that are important to your long-term growth and success.
For example, I have created a routine to be able to write my articles at the time that I have planned.
And my next goal is to publish an article every 15 days to an article once a week.
For this, I have created routines to search for ideas and information during the week, and I have also set the day of the week that I write and publish.
In this routine and discipline, one of the first things we must banish is any tendency to make excuses.
This is not easy because we will always find excuses to stop our plan and not go ahead. But it is crucial to define whether this objective is a priority for us or not.
Another example would be: If you change your country where the spoken language is not familiar, learning a new language would be a priority for you, then you have to create a plan and take action, with a faithful commitment to your goal.
But this will not give results if you do not put yourself a work discipline to be able to have a successful result.
14. Treat Others Well
If you want to be a respected person, you must start by treating those around you well regardless of their role in your life.
Since it has always been said that dealing with humans is the most difficult job in the world and I will not be the one to deny it.
Humans are complicated, incoherent, proud, opportunistic, and the list could go on until I run out of vocabulary.
Still, there are certain ways to improve your relationship with people and even like you.

15. Don’t Look For Perfection
Perfection is a concept far from reality, that is why the attempt to be a perfectionist, that is, reaching perfection, is a matter of control that you will never achieve.
Perfectionists desperately want everything to turn out as they expect and when they want. Obviously, all the time, they run into a wall.
The problem is that the perfectionist refuses to acknowledge his limitations and keeps asking for pears from the elm tree.
The perfectionist person denies, evades and/or rejects any type of limit.
His tendency to ignore all these limits generates an eternal neurosis situation and disorientation because he does not accept reality.
